Irwin A. Goodman & Robert D. Goodman
Irwin A. Goodman (1915 – 2009) and Robert (Bob) D. Goodman (1919 – 2010) owned and operated Goodman’s Jewelers on State Street from the late 1930’s until their retirement in 2001, and they had a well deserved reputation for being kind, honest, and generous. The Goodmans lived frugally, invested wisely, and used their wealth to make many gifts which will serve the Madison community for years to come. Irwin and Bob supported facilities and programs for public recreation, nutrition programs, and programs and facilities to support the Madison Jewish community. Irwin and Bob Goodman were remarkable men and pillars of the Madison and UW community. The good work of these admirable men continues through grants made by the Irwin A. and Robert.D. Goodman Foundation. |
