Inspired by the Rebbe, Chabad House at the University of Wisconsin was established by Lubavitch of Wisconsin in 1973, as a Jewish home away from home to the UW students. In 2005, with the generous support of the Rohr family, Rabbi Mendel and Henya Matusof moved to Madison, to further Chabad's vital work on Campus.
Today, Chabad at the University of Wisconsin, directed by Rabbi Mendel and Henya, provides a warm and inviting Jewish home to thousands of students throughout a school year. At Chabad students can enjoy a delicious home-cooked traditional Shabbat dinner, a spirited holiday meal, an interactive Torah study class, get a free mezuzah, take advantage of a vast Jewish library, go on a free or highly subsidized trip to Israel, receive compassionate counseling, experience Jewish traditions, eat great Kosher food, unwind with a cup of tea and a listening ear, and so much more! It's everything a Jewish family can be, plus some!
